Zone One II : editioned screen print by James Johns
This original limited edition print 'Zone 1' is from a recent hand drawn image. It is a visual interpretation of zone 1 of the London Underground map. Each zone 1 station has been drawn in relation to its location on the map, creating an alternate cartographic image. The tube map is an iconic design, designed by Harry Beck in 1931, a functional revolution in the maps design. This piece reverses this functionality, replacing the station names with its architecture.
Fifteen artists, architects, designers, public artists and printmakers have collaborated to bring together this first Resortfolio collection of 15 hand printed original prints which have been created in a limited edition of 25.
Each print is available individually for £40, or take advantage of the rare chance to own the complete set in a beautiful presentation box.
The prints are all made on John Purcell Paper and are 31 x 31cm
